International Chef

I grew up on a farm outside Kokstad, a small farming town in KwaZulu- Natal. It was here that my fascination and passion for everything involving food was nurtured and my dreams of becoming an international chef were born.

Growing up on a farm also fostered a real passion for fresh ingredients and developed a deep understanding of their source. I loved the seasonal aspect of growing food and its connection to the land.

After boarding school, it was a natural progression that I made food my career. I attended the Institute of Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch, later working for several restaurants in the Western Cape. My dream was always to chef on all seven continents so I set off for London where I was employed by a high end catering company. This led to my working with some of London’s top restaurants. I was also fortunate to work alongside some of the world’s greatest chefs such as Ottelenghi who impacted me greatly, and Anna Haugh who taught me so much about food.

My next career move was working for Mercedes AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. As head chef for the race team, I travelled the world with the F1 circus. Here, I got to cook for and meet so many of the world’s top Formula One Drivers. It was a dream job and I will always treasure the memories and friendships made along the way.

After several years, I decided to return home to South Africa, while routinely visiting America to chef for private clients and functions. Always the adventurer, I then landed a job with White-Desert, a luxury camp based in Antarctica. What a privilege to have visited this incredible place, to have worked for such a great company and to have seen so much of the 7th Continent.

I am now ready for my next venture, bringing the extensive culinary skills gained over these valuable training years to my own catering business. I can’t wait to serve you!
